A young Turkish girl sat crossed-legged on a sofa drinking tea which is served by the servant woman to the left holding a platter of nibbles in her right hand, and a steaming kettle in her left. After Jean-Baptiste van Mour (1671-1737), the Flemish-French painter, remembered for his his detailed portrayal of life in the Ottoman Empire during the Tulip Era and the rule of Sultan Ahmed III.
