A snow scene. The Temple of Apollo Epicurios, at Phigaleia, in Arcadia, stands in a slight depression on the bare and wind-swept side of Mount Cotylion, above the valley of the river Neda. It was discovered towards the end of the eighteenth century, but on account of its remote position it was seldom visited before 1811. From "A Short Visit to The Ionian Islands, Athens, and the Morea.
