A French-text broadside on the Battle of Ramillies, 23rd May 1706, fought in Belgium during the War of the Spanish Succession (1701-14). The map shows the troop movements in the area around Ramillies with a key pasted on, lettered A-S. Below the map is a brief letterpress description of the battle, short because it took the Duke of Marlborough's army of British, Dutch and Danish troops less than four hours to overwhelm the Franco-Spanish-Bavarian army led by Marshal Villeroi & Maximilian II of Bavaria.
