Hamet (18th century) was a companion to Mahomet, a Turkish merchant; they were both taken prisoner in Malta but escaped in a Dutch vessel. Thomas Worlidge (1700-1766) portrait painter and etcher. Born in Peterborough. Pupil of Alessandro Maria Grimaldi, whose daughter Arabella he married. His widow issued his plates in 1766 and 1767 afater his death with the numbers in the corners. Very fiew impressions were issued and sold by Worlidge during his lifetime.
