On the right a winged child standing, in profile to left, with a helmet on his head, holding a mask of Satyre in front of his face; another child behind him, with three more children on the left, looking towards the mask. Illustration to chapter "Theodore and Honoria" in 'Fables' by John Dryden (London, 1797). Text on verso faintly visible. Lady Diana Beauclerk (1734 - 1808) was the daughter of the second Duke of Marlborough. Her first marriage was to Lord Bolingbroke in 1757. When this marriage was dissolved she married Topham Beauclerk. She was a talented amateur artist whose designs were much admired by Horace Walpole.
