The lion performing on a raised platform encouraged by his trainer with a whip; also on stage a goat and a lamb, on the back of which the lion rests his right forepaw. An impressed crowd standing below in the foreground, watching; landscape seen through an opening at right. The story is included in 'Æsopics: or, a second collection of fables ... By John Ogilby'.
