Two of the numerous tail-pieces and vignettes by Pierre-Philippe Choffard for Joseph-Louis-Ripault Desormeaux's (1724-1793) 'Histoire de la Maison de Bourbon'. Desormeaux was the official historiographer to the Maison de Bourbon and his work was disrupted by the French Revolution and left unfinished at the reign of Henry IV. This 'Histoire de la Maison de Bourbon" was published in five volumes and published between 1772 and 1788.
