Giorgio Ronconi (1810-1890) was an Italian operatic baritone and in 1842 he created the title-role in Verdi's Nabucco at La Scala, Milan. He had a very successful career which took him to London, Vienna, St Petersburg and New York. He founded a school of singing in Granada, Spain and also accepted a professorial post at the Madrid Royal Conservatory.
