On the left stands a thin man holding out his right hand as if for money. In his left hand is a long bill headed "... Mercer...". His hat is under his right arm. He faces a stout man standing in profile to the right whose right hand points at the bill. He is frowning and appears to be shouting. An open door is indicated in the background.
