General Game Certificate, fro the Year 1851.Note.- This Certificate will authorize a Gamekeeper (in like manner as a Gamekeepers' Certificate C, for £4.0s.10d.) to kill or take Game anywhere, subject to the Law of Trespass.

Letterpress broadsheet game licence/firearms certificate, c.195 x 135mm, 7¾ x 5¼", issued to Alfred Towgood; signed and completed in ink by a local tax official in Arborfield, Berkshire. Sheet trimmed.
With dated blindstamp to upper verso.
Provenance: from a scrap album compiled c.1840 - 1880 by Alfred Towgood of Riverside, a paper mill owner at St. Neots, Huntingdon. He was also a Lieutenant in the Duke of Manchester's Light Horse.
