Impressive portrait of William II, Prince of Orange (1626 - 1650) as a boy, standing in a landscape, turned to right and looking at the viewer, holding a long sword, and wearing feathered hat and lace collar; a battalion of soldiers stands beyond to right. In 1641 William married Princess Mary, daughter of Charles I of England. In 1647 he succeeded his father, Frederick Henry, as Prince of Orange. His son became William III of England.
