Only the man in the centre, who wears a hat, has a place set at the long table; he is surrounded by a crowd of people, two of whom toast more people leaning into the room from the window above. In a semi-circular frame. William Strang R.A. R.E. (Scottish, 1859 - 1921), chief pupil of Alphonse Legros. He was one of the original members of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers, and his work was a part of their first exhibition in 1881. Some of his early plates were published in Portfolio and other art magazines.
