Magnificient pair of extremely rare colour printed mezzotints 630 x 465mm 24¾ x 18¼ inches. Printed in colours, trimmed to plate with added false margins of contemporary paper. Abrasions on verso from former mounting.
One of the most popular artists of his time, Richard Westall R.A. (1765 - 1836) is a very young artist at this time. There is a set of 4 listed Spring and Autumn by Westall while Summer and Winter are by Wheatley. These were engraved by Bartolozzi in 1790.
