Two aldermen, one short and grotesquely fat, the oner tall, hook-nosed and thin. Possibly intended to personify liberality and frugality in the Mayoral Chair. From an album of caricatures published by Mary Darly dated January 1776. It seems that her husband Matthew made the plates.
