He wears a small round hat with a knot of ribbon, a plain coat and waistcoat, and a cravat and spurred top-boots. Sporting interest. From 'Macaronies, Characters, Caricatures &c by MDarly', in an album of caricatures published by Mary Darly dated January 1776. It seems that her husband Matthew made the plates. Numbered 'V.4' upper left and '7' upper right.
