Satire of an elegant young man walking to right with a cane over his right shoulder. He is a member of 'The Scavoir Vivre', a club formed at the Star and Garter, Pall Mall; the club's rules were published in "The Macaroni, Scavoir Vivre, and Theatrical Magazine", 1772. From 'Macaronies, Characters, Caricatures &c designed by the greatest personages, artists &c', in an album of caricatures published by Mary Darly dated January 1776. It seems that her husband Matthew made the plates. Numbered 'V.3' upper left and '19' upper right.
