Caricature of a courier raising his whip on a galloping post-horse; a thatched building with a sign inscribed 'Poste Royale' to left background. The same design was etched on a larger scale by J. Bretherton, see No. 4737, who also etched a smaller version in reverse. After Henry William Bunbury (1750 - 1811). Numbered '4' upper right. From an album of caricatures published by Mary Darly dated January 1776. It seems that her husband Matthew made the plates.
