A locally-printed satirical profile of the candidates for the June 1826 general election for Northumberland, images of the men in question adjacent. The Tory Henry Thomas Liddell, first Earl of Ravensworth (1797 -1878) topped the poll and was returned alongside fellow Tory Matthew Bell. Four principal candidates race towards the finish line atop a boar, ass, goat and cow in a scene above the text.
