HMS Inconstant was a 36-gun fifth rate launched in 1836 and sold in 1862. Her captain, Daniel Pring (c.1788-1846), had served on Lake Champlain during the War of 1812, fighting against the Americans at the battles of Lacolle Mills & Plattsburgh. After Oswald Brierly (1817 - 1894).
