Princess Caroline Elizabeth (1713-1757). Princess Caroline Elizabeth was a member of the British royal family, the fourth child and third daughter of George II. She was born at Hannover, Germany, and moved to Britain with her sisters in 1714 when her grandfather succeeded to the throne as George I. After the death of Queen Caroline in 1737 she took some responsibility for the upbringing of her younger sisters Mary and Louisa. Princess Caroline remained unmarried. Her health deteriorated in the 1750s and she died at the age of forty-four.
