Admiral Sir Charles Hardy (c.1713 - 1780) made Governor of New York in 1755, and Admiral of the White in command of the grand fleet in 1779. His left hand points out towards a squadron of ships on a calm sea to left. After Allan Ramsay (1713 - 1784), state after title altered from Richard Tyrrell, published posthumously in 1779.
