Three-quarter portrait of Sir Busick Harwood (c.1745-1814) the English physician and anatomist who became Professor of Anatomy at Cambridge, wearing a decorated gown. He was educated as an apothecary, but passed as a surgeon and travelled to India, where he cured a nabob who was wounded in the eye. He returned to England where he was knighted and appointed professor of anatomy. His right hand is holding an anatomical model. Indian interest. CS 34, ii of ii. Ex: Collection of The Hon.
