An edition of 'The Arabian Nights' illustrated by Detmold was published in 1924.

This example was printed by Detmold himself, and is an early state before the unprinted part of plate was cut down. A woman and child collecting apples, oast houses behind. An authorised 2nd edition of an etching first published as a limited edition of 75 in 1928. Paul Drury (1903-1987), President of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers. He made some 92 prints of which about a half were portraits. According to the prospectus, 'This was the only plate, among his few pastoral Etchings, Drury felt unable to cancel'.
