Two young women standing in the doorway of a cottage; one is handing over an apple to a boy, on his way to school with a girl, drying her tears; to left, a young girl feeding a hen, cock and chicks. Two women sit under a veranda while the the two school age children read. The other child picks grapes of a vine.
