A view of the shore at Niterói, across Guanabara Bay from Rio de Janeiro, looking towards Sugarloaf Mountain. George Lothian Hall (1825-88) travelled around the world painting, visiting Brazil in 1858. The Yale Center for British Art holds 16 of his paintings of Gibraltar, painted while he was garrisoned there as a soldier. We have been unable to trace this publication.
