Very rare mezzotint. 180 x 150mm (7 x 6"). Trimmed close to plate.
Three allegorical female figures in clouds. Faith is kneeling on the left and holding a Cross and Chalice; Hope is in the centre with her hands crossed over her breast, looking up into rays of light streaming from above, and Charity sits on the right with two infants. The winged figure of Time sits in a chariot drawn by two deer, passing the ruins of a classical city accompanied by male figures of the Four Seasons running beside. 'Spring' holds a bow and a hooded falcon. From the series 'The Triumphs of Petrarch'
