A caricature portrait of Ernest Augustus (1771-1851), walking in Kew (the pagoda in the background) wearing the so-called Windsor uniform, a high-collared blue coat with red facings, with a star. He looks through a spy-glass. This print is one of a set of four caricatures of Regency swells published by Hannah Humphries in 1812. It seems that Rowlandson took over the job after James Gillray had gone insane in 1811. A sketch by Rowlandson (with this figure but in a crowded interior, featuring the Prince Regent after Gillray) is in the BM (1856,0712.921).

Two portrait busts set in ovals. On the right Prince Ernest Augustus (1771-1851), fifth son of George III who whilst on leave from his studies in Hanover became enamoured of an actress Violetta, depiced on the left, in Lyons. A lack of funds forced him to return home to England without Violetta and he was at once dispatched to Gibraltar. From the 'Histories of the Tête à Tête annexed...' series that appeared in 'Town and Country Magazine', a monthy magazine which featured articles on the scandals and romantic affairs of the nobility.

Sir James Eyre (1734-99) refusal to voice the remonstrances of the corporation against the exclusion of Wilkes from Parliament lost him his job as Recorder, but earned him the gratitude of the goverment. Promoted, he eventually became Chief Justice of the Common Pleas.

A full-length caricature portrait of John Farquhar (1751–1826), wearing rough, patched clothes. A Scottish millionaire who had made his money from gunpowder in India, Farquhar was rich enough to buy Fonthill and its contents from William Thomas Beckford, but had no regard for his appearance, with the result he was often mistaken for a beggar, even by his bankers, Hoare's. After his death, the Sotheby's sale of his library took five days.

Elizabeth Farren as Almeida and Robert Bensley as Omar in Samuel Jackson Pratt's 'The Fair Circassian', first performed in 1781. Almeida's torso is not connected to her petticoats; Omar holds a chain attached to his wrist and a disembodied eye just in front of his face (in shock). The British Museum has an impression with the title 'A Puff Off' in an inscription area under the image, which it believes was never published (BM Satires 6359). This state has the inscription area excised but does not have the etched text in the sky of the later state (BM 6359a), here reproduced in pencil, but lacking 'moving' of 'A Moving Scene...'. The Metropolitan Museum has an impression of this state with the inscriptions of the first state added in old ink, including 'Published March 16th 1782 by C. Bretherton' (17.3.888-337).

Mrs. Fitzherbert as a stout angel, carrying Mary (Minney) Seymour, daughter of Lord Hugh Seymour, from Brighton towards a burlesqued altar, surrounded with cherub's heads with the faces of politicians, including Sheridan, Norfolk, Fox, Burdett, and Derby. A satire on a legal struggle (not decided till 14 June 1806) between Mrs. Fitzherbert and the Seymour family for the guardianship of Mary (Minney) Seymour, daughter of Lord Hugh Seymour, who had died in 1801. It has been suggested that Mary, born in 1798, was the daughter of Mrs Fitzerbert and George IV. She was one of the two principal beneficiaries in Mrs Fitzherbert's will.

Charles James Fox (1749-1806), depicted as a fox, sculpts a bust of the Prince of Wales (1762-1830), remarking "What a goodly figure this makes! What a pity that it should want brains. Æsop’s Fable." His mallet and chisels lie on the ground. Nearby are a kneeling female figure, resembling Mrs. Fitzherbert, and a laurel-crowned head statue, possibly Hanger or Æsop.

Fox, in uniform, stands at attention, holding a musket with four triggers and barrels, two pistols and a dagger in his belt, two grenades in his pocket and a knapsack of combustibles on his back. A blast from his lips reads 'Inflammatory Harrangues To stir up the People to Acts of Sedition - Mutiny - Treason - Rebellion'. At his feet are two papers: 'Punctual discharge of my Duty to my Constituants [scored through and replaced by] Colleagues'; and 'Remonstrance from my Constituents for non Attendance'. A satire impling that the Opposition preached Reform as a cover for revolution.

Brown (1662-1704) was a satirist, now best known for his epigram, 'I do not like thee, Doctor Fell'.

Two 'cubs' (ie sons of Henry Fox, first Baron Holland of Foxley) ride on horseback. The figure on the right, stood on an ass which refuses to cross the stream, is probably intended for Charles James Fox, while the figure on the left, jeering while crossing the stream, is probably Henry Fox, a keen horserider in his youth. Henry Fox, in the military academy in Strasbourg at this time, was stationed in Boston the following year and participated in the early battles of the American War of Independence. First in a set of twelve prints by William Austin (1721/33-1820), drawing-master and engraver. Austin taught caricature to amateurs and this series, which mocked several well-known personages (as did its dedicatee, the actor Samuel Foote) contains some of the most lively English caricatures of the period between Hogarth and the late Georgian satire of Gillray and Rowlandson.

Fox (drawn literally as a fox, complete with bushy tale) is shown dressed as Guy Fawkes, walking towards the Houses of Parliament beneath the watchful Eye of Providence. Published in 'A Political and Satirical History of the Years 1756 and 1757', a volume of seventy-five satirical prints with short descriptions. The description of this print read 'Similar to a modern Guy, who would have made as great a Blow-up at the helm as ever his Predecessor in King James's time could have done; had not the Eye of Providence interven'd'.

Two bust portraits set in ovals, published in the series, the 'Histories of the Tête à Tête annexed', which appeared in 'Town and Country Magazine', a monthy magazine which featured articles on the scandals and romantic affairs of the nobility. According to George: ''This appears to be an account of Bamber Gascoyne, but Sir C------ G------ [Crisp Gascoyne], his father, is here alluded to as his grandfather. There are allusions to his services as a Commissioner of 'a certain great board' (the Admiralty), and to the hospitality of his villa in Essex [Bifrons]. Miss C------m is said to be the natural daughter of a late Irish peer of that name, educated at a capital boarding school in Kensington, and to have been drugged and seduced by Lord B. When she was about to be discarded, she met the Bon Vivant who made her a settlement.''

All four caricatures were issued as separate prints. 'Paul Pry' was the pseudonym of William Heath.

Pier Leone Ghezzi (1674-1755), painter, draughtsman, antiquarian and musician, regarded as the first professional caricaturist. He also painted decorative frescoes and developed a new and realistic form of history painting. Based in Rome, Ghezzi moved freely amongst the Italian nobility, even associating with Pope Clement XI. His satirical portraits include one of Vivaldi and several British grand tourists. He made thousands of drawings, many of which he assembled in several volumes titled 'Mondo nuovo' [New World], now in the Biblioteca Apostolica in the Vatican. In this portrait Ghezzi is shown standing in front of a classical sculpture, referencing his love of the Antique, as seen through many drawings of cameos , coins and vases (an important volume of which is in the British Museum). Etched by Carl Marcus Tuscher (1705-51), German artist who first travelled to Rome in 1728, where he produced drawings for Johann Joachim Winckelmann's book on the gemstones belonging to the collector Philipp von Stosch (who Ghezzi caricatured). Tuscher made this print in London, where he arrived in 1741 with the intention of establishing an academy of art.

This satire pre-dates the Reform Act, referred to on a poster on the wall. The Duke of Wellington, an opponent of the Act, appears as a stick-figure piece of graffiti, waving a sword. A full length satirical portrait of Reverend Thomas Hall (1750-1825). Born in Pennsylvania, Hall had several parishes in Virginia and argued for colonists' rights, but left America when he realised that the colonies intended to split entirely with England. In 1784 he became the chaplain of the British Factory in Livorno, Italy.

A caricature of George Hanger riding a pony past the famous coffee-house, 'The Mount', in Grosvenor Street, the end of his bludgeon resting on the right toe. Hanger (1751-1824) had served with Banastre Tarleton's Legion as a major during the American Revolutionary War, commanding it at the defeat at the Battle of Charlotte of 1780, in which he was wounded. Returning to England he became a friend of the Prince of Wales and Charles James Fox, becoming known as an eccentric. In 1814 he inherited the barony of Coleraine from his brother but declined to assume the title. In his autobiography ('The life, adventures and opinions of Col. George Hanger', 1801) he predicted that one day the northern and southern states of America ''will fight as vigorously against each other as they both have united to do against the British''.

In 1794 he succeeded his elder brother John in the barony (Irish Peerage), in turn succeeded by his brother George.
