A rare lithograph. Watermark: Fellows 1829. 230 x 299mm. 9 x 11¾".
King William's College on the Isle of Man. In 1828 Edward Welch (1806-1868) formed a partnership with Joseph Hansom (1803-1882). Together they designed several churches in Yorkshire and Liverpool, but in 1830 they went to the Isle of Man to design King William's College.

Map of the Isle of Man orientated with north to the top right, with a vignett view of Peel Castle. This map appeared in the first steel-engraved atlas of county maps as well as numerous directories of the island published by Pigot.
