Laetitia Jervis Terry was the wife of the Assistant Superintendant of the Liberated African's Department. The 'Liberated Africans' were those rescued by the Royal Navy from slave ships destined for the Americas. Over 40,000 liberated Africans arrived in Freetown between 1808 (when Britain abolished the slave trade) and about 1855. Not in Abbey.

The sika deer (Cervus nippon), also known as the Japanese deer or the spotted deer (being one of the few deer species that does not lose its spots upon reaching maturity), From 'Zoological Sketches by Joseph Wolf. Made for the Zoological Society of London, from animals in their vivarium, in the Regent's Park', issued in two parts, 1861 and 1867. Joseph Wolf (1820-99), a German artist, specialized in natural history illustration, and is considered one of the great pioneers of wildlife art, having depicted animals accurately in lifelike postures. He worked with John Gould on 'The Birds of Great Britain'. Sir Edwin Landseer considered him 'without exception, the best all-round animal artist who ever lived'.

A view of the interior of the church of St Albans, now St Albans Cathedral. In 1832, part of the clerestory wall fell through the ceiling of the south aisle leaving a hole nearly 30ft long. Lewis Nockalls Cottingham was called in to survey the damage and to propose plans for repair. The acompanying letterpress presents the architects plans as well as stating the amount needed to be raised for the repair. Money was to be raised by public subscription and the letterpress lists the London banks, printsellers and Booksellers where subscriptions could be received.

The print also refers to Sir Robert Wilson's rescue of Napoleonic general and politician who escaped execution and travelled to Great Britian following the Bourbon restoration. A view of Stanfield Hall, Norwich where Isaac Jermy and his son Isaac Jermy Jermy were shot and killed in their porch by their delinquant tenant farmer James Bloomfield Rush. Rush had mortgaged and re-mortgaged his farm several times and with time running up and he hadn't raised the funds to repay the loans, facing eviction he came up with a plan to try and defraud the Jermy's of their property and lives. He was hanged in Norwich Castle in 1849.

Man holding his shaving dish in his left hand and the 'Gazette Extraordinary' in his right. One of many 'droll' mezzotints in roundels made from the designs of Robert Dighton (1751-1814) who, after the death of John Collet in 1780, became the foremost designer of such images.
