Published for the first edition of Sir Henry Chauncy's (1632 - 1719) Historical Antiquities of Hertfordshire 1700. Not much is known about the Hall until Chauncy's series, though it was mentioned in the Domesday Book, however most likely just as an large acreage of land. Arthur Pulter inherited the Broadfield estate in April 1626 on the death of his grandfather, Edward Pulter. He began to build up the manor however died in 1689 and left the completion to his grandson and heir James Forester.

A plan of the famous ornamental gardens of Boughton House, laid out following the 'Golden Ratio' by John Montague (1690-1749), 2nd Duke of Montague, known as 'John the Planter'. The son-in-law of the Duke of Marlborough, Montagu was one of the founding governors of the Foundling Hospital, a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal Society in 1725, a Grand Master of the Premier Grand Lodge of England, a Knight of the Garter and recipient of the Order of the Bath. His London residence, Montague House, became the first home of the British Museum.

This house was demolished in 1778 and replaced by another, which was itself replaced in 1890 by the mansion by Richard Norman Shaw which now houses the major Public School. Reduced version of the large view engraved by Johannes Kip. Previously part of the collection of Hamburg-based book and print collector Robert Johannes Meyer (1882-1976), whose collection focused on northern European printmakers of the 16th-18th centuries.

The interiors were remodelled in the 1760s, when Robert Adam lost the commission to Timothy Lightoler. Lancelot 'Capability' Brown landscaped the grounds between 1772-82.

Published for the first edition of Sir Henry Chauncy's (1632 - 1719) Historical Antiquities of Hertfordshire 1700. Bushey Hall was a historic house built in 1428 for Thomas Montacute, 4th Earl of Salisbury. It was also the home of Sir John Marsham, 1st Baronet. From 1883 Bushey Hall hosted a hydrotheraputic institue in in its 250 acres of parkland. The manor was demolished in the nineteenth century.

A fine view of Byland Abbey in Ryedale, North Yorkshire, centred on the tower and the remains of a huge rose window. Founded in 1135 by the Savigniac Order, the abbey became Cistercian in 1147 and was dissolved in 1538. It is now an English Heritage property.

A fine prospect of Caerhays Castle near St. Austell, Cornwall, a Grade I Listed Building built by the famous architect, John Nash, for the Trevanion family. Building work started in 1807 and was completed by 1810. The Trevanions must have been stretched by the construction cost of Caerhays since, by 1825, they had taken out a mortgage (incumbrance) with The Bank of England for £20,000. Further mortgages accumulated along with their gambling debts and, by 1842, the Trevanion family fled to Bruges and their estates were acquired by their creditors.

An elevation of 'Cannons', a stately home in Little Stanmore, Middlesex, named for the Augustinian canons of St Bartholomew's Hospital who owned the estate before the Reformation. Built by James Brydges (1673-1744) and completed in 1720, the building lastest less than 30 years. His expenditure and losses from the South Sea Bubble meant that his heir was left with such debts that he held demolition auction in 1747, in which the contents and architectural features were sold. The Palladian columns now form the portico of the National Gallery in Tragalgar Square.

The tomb of Charles Fotherby (c. 1549-1619), Dean of Canterbury (1615-1619), in the Lady Chapel in the cathedral, published in John Dart's 'The History and Antiquities of the Cathedral Church of Canterbury'. A more recent history described it as 'a bone-encrusted tomb-chest [which] is a fine example of that obsessive early seventeenth-century morbidity which repelled later, more squeamish observers'.

Thomas Hastings (fl.1813 - 1831), amateur etcher, was collector of customs at Liverpool, and is known as Captain Hastings. He did some good work as an etcher, and was an associate of the Liverpool Academy. This a scarce plate from his ‘Vestiges of Antiquity, or a Series of Etchings of Canterbury'. He also published the following works, illustrated by himself: ‘Etchings (39) from the Works of Richard Wilson,’ 1825, ‘The British Archer, or Tracts on Archery,’ Newport, 1831. He also engraved the plates to Woolnoth's ‘Canterbury Cathedral,’ 1816.
