A satire on the Tsar's inconsistant statements about his commitment to the anti-French coalition of Britain, Austria and Russia, caused by bad feeling after the withdrawal of the Anglo-Russian invasion of Holland in 1799. He was assassinated a year later.

Together with the Treaty of Hubertusburg, it ended the French and Indian War/Seven Years' War. Prime Minister John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute (1713 - 1792) is depicted to the left leading the rejoicing. To the right George Whitefield (1714 - 1770) preaches for peace. Lettered with captions in the image and twelve lines of verse below title: 'See here Fellow-Subjects, (so fine and so pretty!) ... Let's hope yet his Lordship won't die in his Bed'. BM: Satires 4007.

Front inner hinge taped, some gatherings strained, a little foxing throughout, ink ownership inscription on prelim; lacking plate of beetles.
An account of a thirty-month stay in Sarawak with James Brooke ('the White Rajah'), by Sir Hugh Low (1824-1905), a colonial administrator and naturalist. His primary interest was botanical, leading him to explore much of Sarawak, but his account is a general description

An early map of the Ægean island of Chios, with the capital shown as buildings in profile and two galleys in the sea. It was published in Camocio's rare atlas of islands claimed to be subject to Venice, 'Isole famose, porti fortezze e terre marittime sottoposte alla Ser.ma Sig.ria di Venezia'. First published in 1571, this later state has a plate number added. Zackarakis 517.
