An almost full-length portrait of Charlotte, Queen of George III (1744-1818) seated slightly to the left, facing forward. Her right arm rests on a cushion atop an ornate table, while her hands are gently clasped. She wears pearls and a voluminous lace-trimmed gown, with a draped curtain overhead. This is a later state of the print, reworked to remove the flowers from the table; her hairstyle has been altered to a half-up arrangement adorned with a plume. The plate was also reduced in size, and the publisher changed to Laurie & Whittle.

The titlepage of a series of 55 plates reproducing the frescos painted by Raphael in the Vatican Logge. It features a medallion portrait of Queen Christina of Sweden, surrounded by a decorative design feturing military trophies, cornucopiae and a pari of lions. Christina (1626-1689) became Queen of Sweden in 1632, but in 1654 she converted to Catholicism and abdicated, moving to Rome where she became a patron of the arts. She is one of only three women buried in the Vatican Grottoes under St Peter's Basilica.

A view of Coldbath Fields Prison formerly known as the Middlesex House of Correction and Clerkenwell Gaol. a prison in the Mount Pleasant area of Clerkenwell, London. Founded in the reign of James I (1603 - 1625) it was completely rebuilt in 1794 and extended in 1850. It housed prisoners on short sentences of up to two years. Blocks emerged to segregate felons, misdemeanants and vagrants. The prison closed in 1885.

A noted English beauty of the late 17th century she was a popular sitter for several eminent painters of the Restoration era. Napoleon stands on a shoreline, his hair on fire, with the smoke containing an imperial eagle, carrying Napoleon's crown in its beak and grasping in its claws the spiky Iron Crown of Italy. He drops his imperial robe, from which the bees fly, and his sword lies broken on the ground. Behind are representations of Egypt, Elba and Moscow (in flames). Borrom right is a shield with the title 'La Chétive Pécore s'enfle si bien qu'elle creva' ('The wretched creature swelled up so much that it burst), relating to a fable by 'La Fontaine'.

Portrait of Co. Edward Marcus Despard (1751-1803), at his execution. Despard was an Irish officer of French descent in the service of the British Crown, gained notoriety as a colonial administrator for refusing to recognise race as a distinction in English law and, following his recall to London, as a republican conspirator. Despard's associations with the London Corresponding Society, the United Irishmen and United Britons led to his trial and execution in 1803 as the alleged ringleader of a plot to assassinate the King.

The daughter of a Jewish peddler and a Bohemian dealer in second-hand clothes, she began her career singing in the street, but took elocution and acting lessons, becoming a prominent figure in French society. Her lovers include Napoleon III and Jerome Bonaparte.
