A series of women's heads to illustrate how to sing. Published in Gesualdo Lanza's 'The Elements of Singing familiarly exemplified', regarded as as one the best works on the art of singing. Lanza (1779–1859) was a Neapolitan singing-master, whose pupils included the actress Anna Maria Tree.

Groups of figures chatting during an interval at a concert of chamber music in an impressive interior; musicians in the orchestra beyond. The Felix Meritis society was established by the middle classes of Amsterdam in 1777 for the promotion of arts and sciences, inspired by the ideals of The Enlightenment. The oval concert hall was the main music hall in Amsterdam until late into the 19th century and enjoyed a great international reputation. Many famous musicians performed there, including Robert and Clara Schumann, Camille Saint-Saëns, Johannes Brahms and Julius Röntgen. The small hall of the Concertgebouw is a replica of this concert hall. The society was abolished in 1888.

He is buried in Westminster Abbey. The Messiah is possibly one the most poplar works in the Western choral literature. It was composed in 1741, and premiered in Dublin in 1742. It didn't reach ists final state, and the most familiar version, until the performance to benefit the Foundling Hosptial in 1754.

The opera tells the story of an Englishman called Inkle who is shipwrecked in the East Indies, he is rescued by an Indian maiden and they fall in love. Once he returns to civilisation he plans to sell Yarico to recover his financial loses and marry Narcissa, however, Narcissa marries someone else and Inkle stays with Yarico.

Illustration to 'Love & Glory' a song which describes the love story between Henry and Jane. When Henry leaves to fight in battle Jane follows after and dies fighting alongside him disguised as a man. The character of Henry is depicted brandishing a sword in his right hand and holding a wounded Jane in his left. A wonderful over the top romantic image!

An acted representation of the 'Grand Carnival', at the English Opera House (the Lyceum Theatre), with the pit and stage thrown together and crowded with revellers. The characters include a tiny Richard III, imitating Kean, a Puss in Boots, a man in armour, a nun (being chatted-up by Tom) Jerry as a monk and Logic as an undertaker. From Pierce Egan's ' Life in London, or the Day and Night Scenes of Jerry Hawthorn Esq. and his Elegant Friend Corinthian Tom, accompanied by Bob Logic, the Oxonian, in their Rambles and Sprees through the Metropolis', originally issued as a monthly journal at a shilling a time, illustrated by George Cruikshank (1792–1878).

Etched ball invitation, printed in brown ink. In ink verso 42. State before plate reworked and Bartolozzi's name erased. Image 265 x 185mm. 10½ x 7¼". Lacking lower margin. Fold creases as to put in a pocket.
A bacchanal women holding up a tragic mask with a her left hand and lifting her veil with her right. A putto seated to the right holds up the inscribed plaque, seated next to a bunch of grapes; two dramatic masks on the ground in left foreground. This plate has been altered; the putto originally held aloft a basket of fruit and flowers.
