Sir John Poo Beresford (1766-1844) Admiral; son of the Marquis of Waterford. He engaged the French in Hampton Roads 1795, commanded on North American station in 1806, commanded Royal Sovereign yacht in 1814. In 1812-35 he became M.P. and and he later escorted Louis XVIII to Calais on his restoration.

A vegetable seller sits at his basket offering a bunch of large carrots to an attractive, well-dressed young maidservant who responds by holding a leek in a suggestive manner. First published by John Smith of Cheapside and Robert Sayer, 1772. This example has had the publication line removed and a plate number added.

A caricature of a Scot misunderstanding the use of a privy, with his kilt around his waist and his legs down different holes. The thistle and the crown suggests that he is a Jacobite. This example comes from Henry George Bohn's collected edition of Gillray's satires. This is one of the 'Suppressed Plates', which are particularly hard to find in their original printings.

Three hunters, a man and two women, attempt to jump a gate. Two fall, the man landing on top of one of the women. A smaller-format version of a plate published by Carington Bowles in 1780 (BM satires 5816). The BM's example of this smaller version (2010,7081.2106) is a later state, published by Bowles & Carver with added engraving, with the pamphlet in the man's pocket titled 'The Joys of th[e] Cha[se]'.
