Stage design from the 'Raccolta di varie decorazione sceniche inventate ed eseguite per il r. Teatro alla Scala di Milano da Alessandro Sanquirico'. Sanquirico (1777-1849) was a scenery designer who worked primarily for the theatre of La Scala in Milan.

Engraving after Titian's huge 'Presentation of the Virgin' (finished by 1538) for the Scuola della Carita in Venice (it is now in Venice's Galleria dell'Accademia). Architecturally elaborate and in a procession format, the picture includes portraits of members of the Scuola. Plate from 'Il gran Teatro di Venezia', a large series of famous paintings in Venice and views of the city. First published by Domenico Louisa c.1720, this impression is from a later publication by Teodoro Viero.

A copy of Tintoretto's painting in the soffit of the Sala delle Quattro Porte in the Doge's Palace, Venice, showing a woman seated on clouds holding chains representing the protector of Venice's liberty. The etching was published in 'Il gran Teatro di Venezia' (The Great Theatre of Venice).
