Plate: 665 x 510mm (26 x 20"). Marking, trimmed. Slight damage. An impressive scene showing a pastoral Greek landscape in which Lord Byron lies asleep, his companions sleep nearby. The scene illustrates a section from Byron's 1816 poem 'The Dream'. Byron died not long after this print was published on 19th April 1824 and is the last portrait of him while in Greece fighting the War of Greek Independence.
