Complete set of 12 numbered etchings. Each sheet c. 190 x 140mm (7½ x 5½"). Trimmed within plate, mounted on album paper, a few signs of wear.
Twelve plates of 'ruffian soldiers', etched by Johann Georg Will after Charles Parrocel (1688 - 1752). The second plate is dated 1753.

Rare engraving. 475 x 350mm (18¾ x 13¾"). Trimmed to plate, repaired, nick in top edge.
Portait of Ulrich Frédéric Woldemar, Comte de Lowendal (1700-1755). Although born in Hamburg, Woldemar was a successful military leader for France during the War of the Spanish Succession, capturing Ghent in 1745 and Bergen-op-Zoom in 1747 (for which he was made a Marshal of France). In 1755 Louis XV sent Lowendal to negotiate with Prussia to prevent the Seven Years War from breaking out, but he died before making any progress. Engraved by Johann Georg Wille (1715-1808) after Maurice Quentin de La Tour (1704-88).
