Later reissue of a plate first engraved in the late 17th century by little-known printmaker William Vincent (1680s, fl.) and apparently copied in reverse, with adjustments, from an etching by Cornelis Schut. This impression may date from 1805, when John Boydell included the plate in his 'Collection of Portraits'.
