Charlotte Wilhelmina Franziska Brandes (1765-1788) was a German singer, pianist, actress and composer. Born in Berlin, she studied music in Weimar and piano and voice in Dresden. She had an amazing three octave range as a singer and performed successfully in courts and opera. In 1782 she moved to Hamburg and was designated as a singer in the Hamburg Theatre.

Heinrich Julius von Goldbeck (1733-1818), minister of justice and chancellor for Prussia. Three-quarter length portrait with allegorical figure of justice behind. Engraved (and partly painted) by Elisabeth Sintzenich (b.1778), daughter of Heinrich Sintzenich (1752-1812), an engraver who studied under Francesco Bartolozzi in London before becoming court engraver in Mannheim.

Martha Ray (1742 - 1779) was a singer famous for her affair with John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich. She lived with him from the age of seventeen as his mistress, while his wife had a mental illness. She gave birth to five children, one of whom was Basil Montagu. She was murdered in the foyer of the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden by her former lover, James Hackman, a clergyman.
