Procession on the Rokin with mock naval fights. Several small vessels in foreground, a boat with trumpeters in right foreground, a large crowd onlooking from the river-banks in background and from a bridge at left, a classical building on an island at right; after Simon de Vlieger. Illustration to Caspar Barlaeus' "Medicea Hospes" (Amsterdam: 1638). This is one from a series of sixteen plates showing the festivals and ceremonies given to Marie de Medici by the city of Amsterdam during her visit from 31 August to 5 September 1638. They were published by Blaeu in 1638 in Kaspar van Baerle's book on the festivities 'Medicea Hospes'.

Bust portrait of Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640), wearing wide-brimmed hat and cloak. After the self-portrait by Rubens in the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle, signed and dated 1623, which was painted for the future Charles I. Schneevoogt 157.8. Hollstein 128.
