Gaetano Pugnani (1731-1798) was an Italian violinist who trained under Giovanni Battista Somis and Giuseppe Tartini. He was the first violinist of the Royal Chapel in Turin, where he was born. Following his success in London, he went on to direct the King's Theatre from 1767 to 1769.

Johann Gottfried Schicht (1753-1823) was a German composer and conductor. He was the conductor for the Gewandhausorchester from 1785 until 1810 and then the cantor of the Thomanerchor until 1823. His compositions included masses, motets, cantatas, one piano concerto, sonatas and a capriccio. His most important work was a great choirbook, published in 1819.
