Lord Randolph Henry Spencer Churchill (1849 - 1895), statesman and father of Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill (1874 - 1965), prime minister. Boldly etched and signed by Leopold Lowenstam [1842 - 1898] who came to London from his native Holland in 1873, and is best known for his reproductions of classical subjects by L. Alma-Tadema. One of a strictly limited number of artist's proofs.

Portrait of a young Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1881). Disraeli served as British Prime Minister twice, was a parliamentarian, Conservative statesman and literary figure. Before his political career, he was known as a literary and social figure, and mainly wrote romances, of which Sybil and Vivian Grey are perhaps the best-known today.
