Michel Malard (b.1676), religious controversialist and tutor in French. Raised by Catholic parents in France, he moved to England in around 1700 and converted to Protestantism at the French church of the Savoy in London. He then became an episcopalian and began publishing frequent attacks against the French committee for the distribution of the £15,000 allocated annually to French protestants (Malard's own allowance was withdrawn). Malard also wrote several manuals on French grammar, and in one, dedicated to George I, Malard is described as French tutor to the duaghters of the prince of Wales (and future George II).
