A pair of portraits of Christian III of Denmark (1503-1559) and Albert (1490-1568), first Duke of Prussia and 37th grand master of the Teutonic Knights. From a series of 39 'Portraits of European Rulers', engraved by van der Heyden, Frans Huys and Jan Collaert. The British Museum's description of the series notes 'Most of these portraits are engraved two on a plate, but the pairs have almost always been cut apart'.
