A three-quarter portrait of Dutch engraver & etcher Simon Fokke (1712-84), seated with his own print of the plundering of the house of the wine merchant Gerrit Hagedooren in Rotterdam in 1751. John Greenwood (1727-92), the engraver of this portrait, was born in Boston, Massachusetts, but learned mezzotint in Amsterdam. Ex: collection of The Hon. Christopher Lennox-Boyd.
