A pair of stipples. Each 596 x 515mm (23½ x 20¼"), with large margins. First of pair cut into platemark along both side edges, some foxing to edges, but images excellent.
Adam and Eve, wearing animal skins, Adam carrying the dead body of his son Abel over his shoulder, approaching across a landscape, with Eve walking behind him, covering her face in her hands, mourning; [&] Cain, wearing animal skins, one hand to his head in despair, holding a son by the other hand, his wife beside him carrying a child and looking behind her sadly at the home they have left, two other children walking just ahead of them, pointing onward.

A seated portrait of drawing master and caricaturist William Austin (1721-1820). A pupil of George Bickham, Austin worked first as an artist and then as a drawing master in Brighton, he also owned a print shop which sold caricatures many of which supported Charles James Fox. Austin is shown holding a folio titled 'Patriotic Elections, Westminster, Middlesex, Surrey and Bedford' while a portfolio labelled 'Portraits of Mr Fox and other illustrious Characters' leans up against a table.

This example is apparently an early state: most examples have the shadows of spectators in the upper windows of Ludgate Street, all blank here. A plate from 'Orme's Graphic History of the Life, Exploits, and Death of Horation Nelson', published only three days after the funeral.

Head & shoulders portrait of Francis Rawdon-Hastings, 2nd Earl of Moira and later 1st Marquess of Hastings Rawdon-Hastings (1754-1826) fought with distinction in the American War of Independence and French Revolutionary Wars, before becoming a politician serving as Governor General of India from 1813 to 1823. This portrait was published while Moira was serving as a general in Scotland.

Portrait of Edward Snape (b.1728), a farrier, holding an book illustrating blood vessels. In 1766 Snape proposed the establishment of a 'hippiatric [horse] infirmary' as a school for the 'instruction of pupils in the profession', which eventually opened in Knightsbridge in 1778, the same year he published a print, 'A Muscular Preparation of a Horse', on which he described himself as 'Farrier to their Majesty’s & the 2nd Troop of the Horse Guards' with an address in Berkeley Square. In 1791 he published 'A Practical treatise on farriery including remarks on all diseases incident to horses', which had a second edition in 1805.
