Portrait of Richard Brent (1682-1790), a centenarian known as Old Tom Thumb, engraved by William Nelson Gardiner after an oil by Thomas Barker of Bath now in the Victoria Art Gallery, Bath. A pedlar who worked the Bristol and Bath area, Brent married four times and had 32 children: Barker painted him three times, raising his profile so much that Bath society they raised money to give the pedlar a weekly income in his old age.

A series of charming stipples showing putti with a variety of military motifs after the designs of Princess Elizabeth, Landgravine of Hesse-Homburg (1770-1840), third daughter of George III and a talented artist. Thomas Park (1759-1834) was an English antiquary and bibliographer.

Fine copy of this memorial portrait of Robert Faulknor [1763 - 1795], captain in the navy. He was shot during an engagement with a French frigate in the West Indes. His memory is kept alive by a monument by Rossi erected at public expense in St. Paul's Cathedral.

Sir Busick Harwood (c.1745-1814) the English physician and anatomist who became Professor of Anatomy at Cambridge. He was educated as an apothecary, but passed as a surgeon and travelled to India, where he cured a nabob who was wounded in the eye. He returned to England where he was knighted and appointed professor of anatomy. His right hand is holding an anatomical model.

Edward Pococke (1604-1691) was an English Orientalist and biblical scholar. He was ordained a priest of the Church of England in 1629 and the first result of his studies was an edition from a Bodleian Library manuscript of the four New Testament epistles, which were not in the old Syriac canon, and were not contained in European editions of the Peshito.

A portrait of British actress Sarah Harlowe, also known as Sarah Wilson (1765 - 1852), in character as Harriet in Holcroft's 'Seduction'. A quotation from the play is incribed below the title. Harlowe was a popular actress of the London stage around the turn of the 19th century. She was married to actor, playwright and theatre manager Francis Godolphin Waldron. It was at Sadler's Wells theatre, where, as a singer, actor, and performer in pantomimes, Harlowe gained some celebrity, notably for her comedic roles.
