[by Lieuts. Lumley Graham & Hugh Robinson?]
London: Messrs Dickinson Bro's, Her Majesty's Publishers, 114 New Bond Street.

A fine record of the Seventh Xhosa Wars (1846–1847), the first in which the tribesmen used modern weapons to fight the British. Most of the plates are scenery, but the work includes a 'Fingle War Dance' and a 'Kafir and Hottentot War-Party'. The only clue to the artists is their initials, 'LG' and 'HR'; according to Mendelssohn's perusal of Hart's Army List, the only matching serving officers were Lieutenants Lumley Graham and Hugh Robinson.
