Rare mezzotint, print 355 x 250mm (14 x 10"). Trimmed to plate and glued to album sheet. Very slight central crease.
Full length double portrait of Frederick, Prince of Wales (1707-1751) and Anne, Princess Royal and Princess of Orange (1709-1759), against a classical architectural backdrop. prince Frederick standing to left, right hand on his hip, gesturing with left hand. He wears robes lined with pale satin, a cloak thrown back over right elbow, tied with a rope ending in a large tassell, with the chain of the garter, his own hair curling over his shoulders. His sister Anne standing to right, holds out a wreath of laurel to her brother. She wears pearls in her hair and a cloak attached to left shoulder, hooked up at the waist.
