Panorama. One of ten plates in Allen's 'Picturesque Views in the Island of Ascension'. He spent eight weeks with the garrison put on Ascension after Napoleon was exiled to St Helena, describing the island as a 'cinder'.

Lively sketches of individual dogs, arranged in two strips, by Henry Bernard Chalon (1771 - 1849), animal painter, son of Jan Chalon. The key below identifies the breeds as Russian wolfhound, a staghound of the royal pack, a pug dog, smooth-haired fox terrier, and a German boarhound. The owner's names are also recorded. From Chalon's 'Studies from Nature' (20 plates).

The Pakaraima Mountains, include Mount Roraima, first described by the English explorer Sir Walter Raleigh in 1595, shared between Venezuela, Guyana and Brazil. The original sketch was by James Morrison, draughtsman on a British Government expedition to survey Guiana and fix its eastern and western boundaries. The expedition was headed by Robert Hermann Schomburgk, who gave his name to the 'Schomburgk Line', the border between British Guiana and Venezuela.

A native village on a plain below steep mountains, from 'Twelve views in the interior of Guiana: from drawings executed by Mr. Charles Bentley, after sketches during the expedition carried on in the years 1835 to 1839'.
